I am an inquisitive realist who firmly believes in the power of good policy, grassroots initiatives and human connection over shared interests (particularly good food and big laughs!) to create positive, lasting change.
As a passionate refugee and human rights advocate, I have experience as a caseworker, campaign researcher and fundraiser across several organisations including Amnesty International, ActionAid and Fokus Women, Sri Lanka. As the Policy and Funding Officer at the Liverpool Migrant Resource Centre, I am responsible for identifying funding opportunities, designing new initiatives, grant writing, research and remaining abreast of policy developments in the sector. I have a Bachelor of Arts (University of Sydney, Sociology and Government & International Relations) and a Master of Human Rights and Democratisation (University of Sydney & University of Colombo, Sri Lanka).
When I’m not drafting letters to ministers or planning projects, I can be found on the hunt for great coffee, camping (preferably by the beach), bushwalking in the Blue Mountains, daydreaming of my next overseas adventure or scoping out live music around the Inner West.
