History of the LMRC
The Liverpool Migrant Resource Centre was established in November 1979 following recommendations from the Galbally Report which advocates the establishment of Migrant Resource Centres fundamental in ensuring the successful settlement of Non-English Speaking Background migrants in Australia.
The Liverpool MRC was set up to provide community development and welfare related services for people living with the Liverpool Local Government Area. The Liverpool MRC continuous to be primarily funded by the Federal Department of Immigration. The Centre also actively seeks and receives funds from Local and State governments and other organisations to implement specific community projects and programs.
These may be on going or one off projects in keeping with LMRC principles, aim and objectives.
